The TPS6217x device family are easy to use synchronousstep-downDC-DCconvertersoptimized for applications with high power density. A high switchingfrequencyof typically2.25MHzallows the use of small inductors and provides fast transient responseaswellashighoutputvoltageaccuracyby utilizationof theDCS-Control™topology.
With itswideoperating input voltagerangeof3Vto 17 V, the devices are ideally suited for systems poweredfromeitheraLi-Ionorotherbatteryaswell asfrom12-Vintermediatepower rails. Itsupportsup to0.5-Acontinuousoutputcurrentatoutputvoltages between0.9Vand6V(with100%dutycyclemode).
Powersequencingisalsopossiblebyconfiguringthe enableandopen-drainpowergoodpins.
In power savemode, the devices showquiescent currentofabout17μAfromVIN.Powersavemode, enteredautomaticallyandseamlessly if the load is small,maintainshighefficiencyover theentire load range. In shutdownmode, thedevice is turnedoff andshutdowncurrentconsumptionislessthan2μA.
